Visitors are welcome at any meeting, three times a year, without joining anything. Come along first if you would rather — most people do. When you are ready, there are three ways to apply, and they all reach the same Secretary.
Easiest
Fill it in here
The form further down this page asks the same questions as the paper one. It takes about three minutes and goes straight to the Secretary.
On a phone or tablet
Fillable PDF
Tap the fields, type, sign with your finger, then share it back to us by email. Nothing to print.
On paper
Print and bring it
Print it, fill it in with a pen, and hand it to the Secretary at a meeting along with your subscription.
What it costs
Membership is £[XX] a year, £[XX] for under-18s and £[XX] concession. The year runs from [1 January]. Pay by bank transfer, standing order, or cash at a meeting — the Treasurer will send you the details once your application is in.
Membership of the club is separate from membership of the RSGB. You do not need one to have the other, though many of us have both.
The application form
Everything marked with a red star is needed; the rest helps us put you in touch with the right people. If you would rather not type any of it into a website, use one of the PDFs above instead — we do not mind in the least.
What happens next
- The Secretary reads your application, usually within a week, and replies with the payment details.
- Your name goes to the Committee at the next meeting, which is a formality rather than an interview.
- Come to a meeting whenever you like in the meantime. You do not have to wait to be told yes.
- If you are under 18, we will send a parental consent form. A parent or guardian completes it and comes along with you to meetings.
What we do with your details is set out in our privacy notice: we hold them to run your membership, we do not sell them, and we delete them when you leave. Any question about your data goes to the Secretary.
